Unity is all around us

Today is Malaysia's 53rd Independence Day (Hari Kemerdekaan). This year's theme is "1Malaysia" - which is about unity among all the races in the country. Our Prime Minister is always encouraging us Malaysians to live up to the spirit of 1Malaysia. But I think, unity is actually all around us, maybe we just didn't notice it.

When I was studying in Negri Sembilan Matriculation College (Kolej Matrikulasi Negeri Sembilan a.k.a KMNS), my friends & I were always together, and my friends were not just Malays, some were Chinese too (one friend was a Chinese Sabahan). There were 8 of us, we never failed to celebrate the birthdays of each & every one of us.

During the fasting month, my Chinese friends, Pei Nie & Wan Jing, even joined my Malay friends & I to break fast together. At one time, Pei Nie even tried to fast as well!!! She was not a Muslim, yet she wanted to know what it felt like to fast like all the other Muslims.

Subconciously, we are all united, no matter what race or religion the people around us are. That is simply bcoz Malaysia is a multiracial country. It is hard to not have contact with people of other races, you would have to live in a very remote place then if you say you have no friends or acquantainces of another race/religion. Well, that's what I think! ^_^

Can't wait for Friday to come~!!

My best friends (or in my style of writing, "besfrens") from school & I have arranged to break our fast together this coming Friday. Yeah~!!! ^_^

It has been years since I last saw & met them. They are my dearest frens!! They are Tirah, Kak Long, Mcyum, Shea Rasol & Syud. We have been besfrens since I was in Form that's like 9 years already, wow~... My fren Mcyum has juz came back to Malaysia after studying in Manipal, India for 2 n 1/2 years. So this gathering is also to celebrate her coming back home. I've missed u, Mcyum!! Well, I've missed all of u girls a lot, too~!! >_<

The sad news is that Tirah will not be attending as she has exams coming soon. Let's juz hope that I get to meet her at my school fren's wedding in September.

Owh dear, what ever am I going to wear this Friday? I don't have that much pretty clothes, this is really gonna be a problem. Of course I would want to look my best for my besfrens after years of not seeing them. Let's see...I have 3 days to rummage through my wardrobe, hope that I eventually find that perfect blouse! ">_^

Been busy & now excited!

Sorry that I haven't been blogging these few days. Yesterday, my mom held a jamuan berbuka puasa (breaking fast feast - is that how u translate it? I'll look it up later..), n invited all the relatives of her side of the family to break fast togther at her house. Well, since I'm the eldest daughter, of course I had to help.

Btw, I'm so excited coz tomorrow, I'll be meeting my hubby (who has been away for 2 weeks~!!) Yeah~!!!! More updates tomorrow..

Inspired by GREEN~!!

Since I was in primary school, my favourite colour is green. I like all shades of green, you name it. And bcoz of that, I have many things which are green. Here is a list of them:

  • This blog~!!!!
  • My bedroom in my mother's house - the curtains, the walls...
  • My bathroom - the tiles, the window blinds..
  • My toothbrush & mouthwash
  • Most of my blouses & baju kurung -  for Eid (Hari Raya), I've bought a green-and-white baju kebaya~.... ^_^
  • Tudung (or hijab, shawl or whateva you call it) - I've got many, but I only use 2.."-_-
  • My clothes hanger
  • My old pencil box - it's worn out now, my current pencil box is blue, didn't have a choice while buying at that time
  • Pens & highlighters
  • My scissors & stapler - well, I've lost my green stapler though, now using my dad's blue one..
  • My nail clipper & nail file
  • My pouch - which I put my lipgloss, eyeliner & compact mirror in it
  • My bags - which I don't use anymore bcoz they're tattered, but I still keep them
  • My file folders & notebooks
  • What else? ermmm...
Well, that's all of them, I guess. I'll juz add to the list later if I have other green stuff. Next is a list of what i would like to have in the future that consists of green:

  • My own car - doesn't matter what brand, as long as its green
  • A pair of green shoes - nearly bought a green pair 2 weeks ago but it was out of stock.. "-_-
  • A green laptop

The Love of My Life

(This is a poem I composed myself for my hubby back when we were dating, hihi.. ^_^)

You are the sugar in my cake,
You are the light
that brings brightness to my life,
You are the sweetness of my candy,
You give happiness in my life,
You are who you are...
You are the love of my life!

9 Months of Pain & Happiness~...

As you all may not know, I got married on 24th January 2008. Soon after, I became pregnant on August of the same year. This was quite unexpected as my hubby & I were not thinking of having a baby at that time, since I'm still studying. But it was God's will, so we accepted it, happily + nervously.

Being pregnant while still a student is quite a challenge. At that time, my hubby worked in Kelantan, so I rented a flat unit with some friends near to UM. All the walking here n there throughout the campus really helped as excercise is encouraged while pregnant. Thank God, I had no morning sickness or allergies or even cravings like other pregnant women have.

To make things easier, I registered to give birth at the UM hospital (PPUM). I dreamt the baby was a boy, while my hubby dreamt it was a girl. Nearing the 6th month of pregnancy, the doc told me that my baby is probably a girl.

On the day that the baby was expected to come out (22nd April), I was having my final exams for the semester. I felt nothing strange whatsoever, n attended for the exam without worrying that I might have contractions in the exam hall.

That same night (around 2 a.m), I awoke from my sleep as my stomach ached. I thought I needed to use the bathroom, but after 2 times going there yet nothing came out, I panicked. I was staying at my mom's house at that time, so I called for her (well, actually I yelled for her ">_<).

We quickly rushed to PPUM, my dad driving as fast as he could. When we arrived, I was wheelchaired into the labour room, n put onto the bed. A nurse said to me, "Bagus betul adik nie, datang hospital terus nak beranak, tak payah tunggu lama2". ^_^

Exactly at 3.40 a.m on 23rd April 2009, my cute baby girl was born into this world. We named her Nur Hannah Husna which means "cahaya kasih sayang yang lawa & baik". My hubby chose Nur n Husna, while my mom picked out Hannah - obviously influenced by the Disney series 'Hannah Montana' which was quite famous (n still is) at that time.
